1972 to 1976 - Following an ‘apprenticeship’ with a specialist exhibition trade show organiser, Gerry Robinson launched Eurotrade Exhibitions,  providing services to the organisers of a variety of trade exhibitions, and to individual companies. Initial events covered the manufacturing equipment aspects of the engineering industry including  automated production, plastics, electrical, food, furniture and industrial fasteners.

Subsequent years included a period of organising a series of regional business exhibitions in the UK, representation of groups of companies at international trade expos and,  from 1988,  an involvement in the amusement and attractions industry in the UK and internationally.

1991- 1994 Eurotrade Exhibitions launched the first ever amusement industry trade exhibitions in Poland and the Czech Republic.

In 1994 the company changed its status and trading name to Trade Shows International Ltd (now commonly referred to as TSI) primarily to reflect the activities that were planned for the following 5 years.

1995 and 1996 were significant years for TSI as it launched new industry exhibitions in Greece (Athens) the Middle East (Dubai) and India (Mumbai).    Although the events were eventually acquired or taken over by other organisations they are all still part of the annual exhibition calendar.

Whilst specialising in the amusement and attractions industries TSI continued to undertake numerous other organisational functions for a variety of publishers, local authorities and trade organisations.

Since 1999 TSI has been the sole representative for RAAPA, the Russian amusement industry trade association, with a particular responsibility of advising on the growth of its annual trade show.     It is currently the second largest industry trade show in Europe.

For 7 years TSI’s Director was Chair of the International Council for IALEI, the International Association for the Leisure & Entertainment Industries and became a Founder member of the Themed Entertainment Association of Europe & the Middle East.

2004 and 2005 were important years for the company when it was appointed Secretariat to the Association of Amusement & Leisure Equipment Suppliers of the UK (ALES-UK) and the Amusement Industry Council of Europe (AiCE).

In 2009 it was also appointed Secretariat to MELAC, the Middle East Leisure & Attractions Council.

Appointed as consultants to the successor if its original Middle East trade show in 2007 TSI now organises the seminar programme and has also launched the first Middle East Attractions Forum (MEAF).
